Current Opportunities at risqueslab

POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW

Starting Winter-Spring 2023

A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Risques Lab, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Washington to study somatic evolution in human aging and as a biomarker of cancer risk. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc to work on the application of ultra-accurate sequencing methods to characterize low frequency mutations in normal tissue and to accurate genotype polyguanine markers to trace cancer evolution. The main goal of this research is to understand clonal expansions within normal tissue and their implication in aging and carcinogenesis.

The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in genetics, biochemistry, cellular or molecular biology, or other related fields and have prior experience in computational analysis of genomic data. Strong analytical skills and strong record of scientific productivity is required. Working experience on tissue microdissection, sequencing library preparation, and cancer genetics is strongly preferred, but not exclusively required.  Interested candidates, please send an email with your CV to rrisques@uw.edu.

Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, the University of Washington will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity. Together, our community strives to create and maintain working and learning environments that are inclusive, equitable and welcoming.
